Yoga Therapy


What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga therapy uses the tools and techniques of yoga  (movement, breathing practices, deep relaxation and meditation techniques) to focus on an individual’s or small groups needs.   Practices are adapted to the client’s particular health issues, schedules and frequency of visits.

Yoga therapists do not diagnose health issues.  The goals of a yoga therapist include working with healthcare professionals who have diagnosed medical issues and consider yoga to be a complementary therapy.  Yoga therapists will also listen to individuals concerns and work with them to teach them practices that they can do on their own. Individual Yoga Therapy

A private yoga therapy session can be just one session, a series of sessions or on-going sessions depending on the needs of the client.  The first session includes an assessment as well as recommended beginning practices.  A client will complete a Client Information Form and submit this to the therapist prior to the session or bring it with them to the session.  The client and therapist discuss the information on the form. A yoga therapist does not diagnose health issues.  Based on the information on the form and the discussion, the therapist chooses a series of movements, breathing practices and relaxation and/or meditation techniques for the client.

One Session:  $110 per one hour session

Small Group Yoga Therapy

Create your own small group of 2 to 12 people.  The therapist will create a custom class based on the health needs of the group.

$25 per person with a minimum of $100.  There may be an additional room rental charge based on the size of the group.
